Press Release

atis, the vibrant bowl bar taking London by storm, is set to open a new site at Borough Yards in mid-May 2023

April 2023: mid-May 2023 will see the opening of the fifth London instalment of the vibrant, healthy and flavour-packed salad and bowl bar atis in London Bridge; more specifically in the bustling new Borough Yards development. The brand is also pleased to announce a sixth opening – bringing atis to even more Londoners – that will be taking place later this year, with the location soon to be announced.

Since opening their flagship store in October 2019, atis has seen huge success on their mission to encourage people to eat more nourishing, plant-powered food and is thrilled to be bringing their popular menu offering to the London Bridge area, with their renowned build-your-own bowls, as well as their new Spring menu offering guests even more to choose from. As always, customers will be able to choose from a selection of flavoursome ingredients – both fresh and cooked – to create their own salad and warm bowls, encouraging guests to get creative whatever their mood. All their food is made from scratch on site daily. The fundamental foundation of atis focuses on being nourishing, upbeat and making customers feel good with every bowl.

The new atis space is the latest opening at Borough Yards, South London’s newest food and beverage, retail, leisure and creative district. Delivered by pan-European investment manager MARK, the 140,000 sq.ft development includes  Everyman Cinema, Paul Smith and The Office Group, Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse, and a range of restaurants as occupiers.

The large-scale regeneration provides extensive open public space through the revival of disused viaducts, warehouses and industrial buildings, as well as three previously lost medieval London streets – Dirty Lane, Clink Yard and Stonecutters Yard. The space at atis has been designed by East London based design company Daytrip Studio. Inspiration for the interiors of the space has been taken from the local vernacular, in particular glazed bricks which will be used as the cladding of the service line and become a focal point within the space. The site’s prominent perforated steel structure will be softened with a playful application of vibrant yellow which will contrast with the industrial, poured concrete floor and the invigorating yellow that threads through all the atis stores and brand. Natural warmth will come from the addition of Ash timber joinery for seating and perforated lantern lighting.

The palette of the venue will remain calm and neutral, so colourful ingredients pop throughout the space, keeping wellness and healthy eating at the heart of the atis experience. Other signature atis design elements are set to include: opening views to showcase the on-site kitchen activities and an integrated shopfront hatch for takeaway orders so this new venue works seamlessly as both a vibrant local hangout and an outpost for Atis to deliver to the wider South London area.

The menu, which is packed full of flavour and seasonal offerings, will include new Spring menu highlights such as the ‘Green Goddess’ featuring baby spinach, romaine, chopped broccoli, and pickled fennel that they recommend to try with their new Preserved Lemon & Olive Chicken or new Rooted Spices Shichimi Togarashi Salmon. ‘The Spicy Raw Thai’, a long-standing summer favourite of atis loyalists, has also found its way back onto the menu: baby spinach, shredded kale + cabbage, edamame + pea medley, shredded carrot, cucumber, spring onion + coriander, crispy shallots + cashew satay dressing.

atis favourites such as the ‘Azteca’, ‘Keep It Lean’ and phenomenally addictive Blackened Chicken can also be ordered and the site will also have a collection of crave-able sides and power pots for an extra something, including ‘Best Spuddies’ roasted potatoes, atis aioli and crispy shallots and ‘Broc ‘N’ Roll’ double roasted broccoli, dill yoghurt and smoked almonds.

A wide selection of drinks will also be on offer at the new site, including CPRESS, Dash, Trip and FIX8 Kombucha.

Co-Founder, Eleanor Warder says, “We are really proud to be opening our fifth site in London Bridge: Borough Yards is a very exciting development and we’re looking forward to being part of the community there. The market has of course long been a cultural destination of London’s South, with many top-quality restaurant and retail outlets so we feel very honoured to be sitting alongside these names. It will be our first site South of the river, so we are very pleased to be bringing our atis bowls and experience to the London Bridge area and beyond! It is looking like an exciting year for us, with another opening planned for later in 2023.”

Lily Lin, UK managing director at MARK, said: “We are excited to welcome atis to the Borough Yards line up, where our strategy of attracting a diverse mix of food and beverage, retail and leisure occupiers is proving resilient. Ensuring a blend of flagship and boutique brands will be instrumental to the continued success of this new district, which is fast becoming a landmark South London destination.”
