Bancone announces biggest opening to date at Borough Yards

As Bancone prepares to celebrate its 5th birthday this year, the wildly popular restaurant group announces a third site at Borough Yards, a stone’s throw from Borough Market.  There are lots of ‘firsts’ for their third site:  a first foray out of central London, and a restaurant space including an open kitchen with counter-top dining plus a beautiful party and private mezzanine space upstairs, overlooking the restaurant.

Executive chef Ben Waugh is very much at the helm of the new restaurant, which will feature all the pasta, cocktail and wine list favourites plus some new surprises.  Bancone’s menu ‘staples’ of the Silk Handkerchiefs with walnut butter and confit egg yolk; Mafalde with spicy pork and nduja ragù and their cacio e pepe will very much remain but Ben is working on some incredible new dishes too.  Bancone is famous for having spawned a 1000 copycat ‘confit egg yolk’ pasta dishes across London and earlier this year, Ben created a stunner of a Raviolo with smoked potato, new season truffle and egg yolk dish which once again ‘broke’ Instagram.

Bancone enjoys a rarity in the restaurant world:  very low staff turnover.  Some of the team have been in the business for as long as 4 years and around 20 people will be coming over from the two existing sites to run and manage this new site in Borough Yards.

Bancone opened its doors in summer 2018 and as the team gets ready to celebrate five years of serving up pasta that every critic has absolutely loved, they say, “When we opened the doors to Bancone in Covent Garden, none of us ever thought we’d be opening our third site five years later. With a huge following of loyal guests and maintaining exceptional hospitality for them we’ve been able to do it – and we could not be more thrilled.   Our new site, is big, beautiful and in a fantastic location and we cannot wait to open the doors.”

More details of the menu will be released in due course.
